The size of the field disguises the fact that there is plenty of dead wood here, and the trio of Wroot Danielle, Horizon Hill and Acomb should provide the winner, with the latter getting a narrow vote. Acomb has already paid to follow this season, having won at Redcar. That victory was in part thanks to Weatherbys who said that he could not get in the mile and a quarter event that he was being aimed at, so connections let him run over the seven furlongs instead. The runner-up Tiber Tiger has franked the form since at Newmarket, and providing he handles the easier ground, Acomb must go close. Horizon Hill has not been easy to place but is beginning to look well handicapped, so any market moves should be noted. Wroot Danielle has also tumbled down the weights and although his latest Beverley success was gained in claiming company, it still reads better than most of the others and he can make the frame. Acomb is the selection.
