In depth

Verdict

GARRUS carries a penalty but won with plenty to spare at Newmarket and better still is expected from Jeremy Noseda’s Mill Reef Stakes entry. He should have the measure of these despite Under Curfew going close over 5f at Beverley last time and My Boy Lewis finishing a lot closer at Ayr on his latest start. Mawakib stands out among the newcomers given his 190,000gns price tag as a half-brother to four winners.
