Hard to look beyond Godolphin in their current rampant juvenile form although there are some very noteworthy newcomers on show, all of whom merit a market check. However, ENCKE sets a tough standard for his rivals after a really promising Doncaster debut over a mile when beaten just half a length by Perennial in what looks a potentially hot maiden. He was well backed, travelled most smoothly and ran on well to the line so the Kingmambo colt can only improve and it will take a good one to beat him. Good Morning Star was well supported at Goodwood but disappointed after a debut full of promise. She receives the useful sex allowance and it will be interesting how she operates on her first venture on ground without cut.
