In depth

Verdict

Not lots of experience for us to go on here but one who has an invaluable amount of it to bring to the contest is Always Ready, who is taken to score, while Jack Dawkins, Mr Fantozzi and Craggy Cat are all likely to go well. The selection was much better suited by a sound surface when runner up in a similar contest at Yarmouth last time. Being by Best Of The Bests this trip should suit as a juvenile and with three runs now having given him plenty of encouragement it is time for him to step up to the mark. Craggy Cat made a pleasing debut at the same track back in June, running plenty green enough but showing signs that the penny had dropped over a furlong shorter. This trip should elicit a fair bit of improvement, although the suggestion is that he will be better at three. Jack Dawkins showed enough here on debut to be sent off favourite at Yarmouth last time, but disappointed. There were no obvious excuses, so although he has ability he has a bit to prove. Of the others, Mr Fantozzi is back down to a level of ability where he can show prominently, while both Redford and Indy Driver are interesting newcomers, but preference here is for Always Ready.
