      Verdict

Richard Fahey sends JAN VAN HOOF on the long journey from Yorkshire and the trip can pay off as the son of Dutch Art was having just his fourth start when scoring readily at Pontefract. Newton's Law was receiving 4lb from Sandfrankskipsgo when scoring here last month and the winner is entitled to turn the tables at the revised weights. Maljaa landed a York maiden in very good style last July and didn't reappear until last month where he caught the eye in a handicap on this track - he could prove the main threat in a tricky finale.
