Verdict
This is a decent race for favourites who have won half of the last ten. Spongy and Ground Control represent the Hannon team. The former has improved with each run and stayed on strongly over this trip at Leicester while the latter found the minimum trip much too short at Lingfield last time. Mark Johnston's juveniles have been in outstanding form and Aleko may not have been suited by Epsom after an impressive debut success at Haydock. Tawdheef's only defeat came in a Listed contest over 5f at Sandown where he couldn't go the pace but the one to be on is MAJDOOL (NAP). Roger Varian's colt finished runner-up to the useful Beaverbrook at Chester before having a confidence booster at Wolverhampton where there looked much more to come.
