Verdict

PAQUERETTZA appeals to hold sound claims in an open race where Miss Beat and Bombina are others to bear in mind. The majority of the field have to either prove their racefitness or whether they have trained on or both and the market, as is ever thus, should be checked. There are no concerns on either score for the selection though and she battled on gamely to get the better of a subsequent scorer and could be up to defying the rise in the weights. Miss Beat is not as good as her debut second to Apple Charlotte suggests but she is realistically handicapped and should be competitive in contests of this nature. Bombina has plenty of ability but has her share of temperament; after winning her maiden she failed to figure in a strong Listed race and a watching brief may be best for her return with a jockey who has a modest strike rate for the yard on board. Novastasia and Luckier could get involved if translating their all-weather form to turf whilst Chantilly Pearl won a modest maiden in good fashion and needs a check as does Breach Of Peace with those around her at Windsor running respectably since. A number to consider but Paquerettza ticks the right boxes so gets the nod.
