        Verdict

        Another ultra-competitive renewal of this valuable handicap with most having some sort of chance. David Marnane's Irish raider Jamesie had Atlantic Sport, Decent Fella, Belgian Bill, Imperial Guest, Bronze Prince and Castles In The Air behind when runner-up in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, though has yet to win over 7f. Excellent Guest has and did well to get within half-a-length of Prince Of Johanne over a mile in the Royal Hunt Cup when Stevie Thunder, Captain Bertie and BONNIE BRAE were among the also-rans. The latter was drawn on the unfavoured far side that day, however, and that run can be safely ignored. David Elsworth's useful mare has winning form over this trip on soft ground and has also won over C&D. As big weights have proved no barrier to success in this race in the past, she gets the nod though Seal Rock and Citrus Star are also capable of going close in if the mood.
