Verdict
This doesn't look to be the strongest of maidens for the course. Of those to have run Wild Ovation probably has the best form on offer. A half-brother to the high-class sprinters Bold Edge and Brave Edge, it remains to be seen whether this trip will bring out the best in him. Steel Cat showed some promise on his debut at Yarmouth and will certainly be all the wiser here. However, his future looks to lie in handicaps. The pair to concentrate on are My Mellors and newcomer Sublimity. The latter, who is out of a mare that won on her only racecourse outing, is sure to attract plenty of support and runs here in preference to running in tomorrow's Wood Ditton, but the vote goes to My Mellors, who showed plenty of pace in a maiden over course and distance here last October, before lack of condition took its toll. A half-brother to a Group 3 winner in France and a dual Grade 2 winner in the States, he is taken to make the most of his edge in experience.
