Peeress won what looked a falsely run Tattersalls Stakes here last time and may be best passed over under her penalty today so preference is for Sleeping Indian, who gets the vote over Arakan. The last mentioned is a stablemate of Peeress and has shown a return to form of late but Sir Michael Stoute's filly may find the going too testing for her and a safer bet looks to be the selection. Sleeping Indian has been much improved this term and should appreciate the drop back in class having been found wanting in the Queen Elizabeth II recently. The cut in the ground should help the daughter of Indian Ridge and, with the Gosden stable in such good form she looks worth a bet to resume winning ways. New Seeker has done little wrong this term but this looks tough for the Clive Cox standard bearer, while Somnus will relish the conditions but has been out of form for some time. Babodana can be expected to run his usual good race but a place is the best that he can reasonably hope for and of more interest may be the less exposed Le Vie Dei Colori, who should relish the going. Council Member has to be respected given the form of the Godolphin yard but Sleeping Indian has solid claims on ground that should suit and gets the vote.
