Verdict
Leading contenders Azimuth, Warm Memories and Linnens Star all disappointed last time so KALK BAY is suggested in the hope that the market gives out the right signals. Warm Memories and Azimuth both have leading claims on the form book but both were turned over at odds-on last time with the Stoute runner running no race at Haydock having pulled for his head throughout. The pair are likely to be short enough in the market again and consequently make little appeal as a betting option whilst Linnens Star didn't progress from his debut when beaten at Bath when racing too keenly. Support for Forest Runner or Wallis would bring them into the equation but Willie Haggas runs a half-brother to the talented King's Apostle and he may be able to upset the apple cart at an each-way price as Kalk Bay makes his debut at a time when his yard is going well and the booking of Michael Hills is a positive as he has a decent strike rate for the stable.
