Verdict
Not the best of races to start proceedings at Headquarters with 11 moderate-looking types lining up. They are headed in the weights by the Richard Hannon-trained Carolina Silk, who is clearly the best horse in the race but, who is still a maiden after nine outings and cannot be backed with any confidence. He looks worth opposing. Both Court Circle and Mr Hawkeye are unexposed and may well improve enough to take a hand, while Harry The Beaver and Robbie Can Can have disappointed of late. More solid claims are held by Leicester handicap winner Petite Futee but as she won off a mark of 56 their a great deal of improvement is needed to take this. A safer bet then and the TEAMtalk selection is Ian Semple's Answered Promise. Another last time out winner, the gelding is well treated on official BHB ratings, comes here in good form and has the undoubted assistance of Jimmy Quinn.
