Verdict
Alan King has done well this jumps season and could well have some success on the Flat as well judging by the performances of Howle Hill last term. A winner of two of his last four starts including a nursery here, it is a brave call upping him to this sort of trip on breeding. Montmarte makes her handicap debut after landing a few nice bets at Yarmouth last season. A very big filly, her trainer reckons that she is one to follow this term. Santando¿s latest victory at Doncaster was in a race that developed into a sprint but at least the winning form is there, while Harcourt makes his handicap bow after contesting three fairly weak maidens. With John Dunlop continuing his winning streak of late it would be folly to ignore the claims of Alasil who gets the vote. A half-brother to Labibeh, he will relish the trip after staying on in decent company in each of his four outings so far, most recently on his return at Leicester. He has no problems with the fast ground and is the one that they all have to beat.
