        Verdict

        Oceana Gold is taken to land this at the expense of Viva Vettori and Fondled. The selection ran a blinder in behind Proponent here last time out over one furlong further. All his best efforts have been over the straight mile and having had a run this season his fitness will not be questioned. If running up to his best he will take a great deal of beating. Viva Vettori is four pounds higher for winning at Kempton on the all weather last week on his first outing of the season. He was a late developer and has taken time to come to himself but can again run a solid race if producing his best. Fondled is having his first outing of the year and will be sure to come on for the outing. He continued to improve throughout last summer eventually breaking his maiden tag at Yarmouth in September showing a good turn of foot. Coming from a yard in form he is respected but for the winner we return to Oceana Gold.
