Verdict
A number of future winners are likely to come out of this race and with experience counting for plenty in such testing conditions we side with NARGYS. Luca Cumani's filly was easy to back on debut over six furlongs but she kept on determinedly. Her dam won a soft ground maiden for Jim Bolger so it is to be hoped that the ability has travelled through the genes. The pedigree of Vanity Rules makes her of interest. Her dam won as a juvenile, and her half-sister, Smart Step, has had four successes when the going has been soft or heavy. Mahmood Al Zarooni is profitable to follow in juvenile races at Newmarket and Willowing is a fascinating newcomer but, somewhat surprisingly, Roger Varian has a relatively modest return with his juveniles here but My Flaming Cat should give a good account of herself on introduction.
