In depth

Verdict

KENSINGTON OVAL can provide Sir Michael Stoute with another winner; the list of dangers is headed by Lochiel and Straits of Hormuz. The selection showed he had ability on his debut last year, and although he subsequently disappointed, he bounced back to form on his seasonal reappearance when he finished third behind Mountain Pride at Sandown. He has clearly trained-on and off his current mark he should be capable of getting his head in front. Lochiel wasn't beaten far earlier in the month at York in a race won by Cosmic Sun and he is another that is racing here off what looks a competitive mark. Straits of Hormuz is unexposed and she should be suited by this longer trip so she is another to consider. A market move for Sereth would have to be noted given the connections, but this looks a good opportunity for Kensington Oval who gets our nomination.
