    Verdict

This is an extremely competitive finale but Data Protection, who likes it here, is much respected having placed in both starts this year. Good Birthday was thrown out by the stewards after winning on the Rowley Mile here last month but made amends by landing the Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar when Balgair was behind – the form of that race is working out well. Potenza also arrives in peak form but connections will have been hoping for some rain. PASSION AND GLORY was having a first run since February when trouncing the useful High Commissioner at Lingfield and the Godolphin gelding may be capable of defying a penalty, though the three-year-old Mashhoor will surely relish this extra quarter-mile.
