    Verdict

Whispering Death returned to winning ways last time out and can go in again this afternoon, while Allesano and Duty may provide most danger. The Willie Haggis trained four-year-old should really be on a four-timer as jockey error cost him the race at Warwick. Either side of that effort he was a most impressive winner, and if set alight in time today he will be hard to beat. Alessano comes here in great form following victories at Windsor and Sandown and another big run can be expected. Sir Michael Stoute's Duty is another with solid claims having performed with credit in all his races this season. He had plenty of previous winners behind when fourth to Stoop To Conquer last time and he looks certain to play a part in the finish. However in this sort of mood it is hard to ignore Whispering Death and this one gets our vote.
