Verdict

Wannabe Yours is a danger to all here on his defeat of Hors De Combat and Bow Creek at Goodwood last month. The third went on to reverse that form with the runner-up when landing the Celebration Mile back at the Sussex track and then beat Mustajeeb and Gordon Lord Byron in the Group 2 Boomerang Mile at Leopardstown so the form stands up to scrutiny. But older horses have generally held sway in this in recent seasons - it's seven years since a three-year-old last won - and that trend can continue. CAPTAIN CAT was only third in the Celebration Mile but James Doyle gave him plenty to do that day and he still finished ahead of the disappointing Producer and Hors De Combat. Roger Charlton's gelding has won easily since at Haydock, ahead of Ocean Tempest and Penitent, and can win for the fourth time in a lucrative campaign, though Custom Cut is still improving judged on his latest win in a Group 3 at York. Tullius returns from a break and Outstrip is flattered by his rating but Arod has been running well against classy opposition over further and could figure.
