Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute won this with an older horse last year and his consistent four-year-old Zaaki demands respect having stayed on gamely to win a Group 3 at York last month. The globe-trotting Benbatl is returning from a lengthy absence but has form at the highest level, though would have preferred a longer trip. Uae Jewel has won both starts to date but hasn’t raced since May and this is a huge step up in class. Happy Power has run well in top company at Goodwood the last twice so has place claims again but this looks too hot for the filly Anna Nerium and handicapper Pogo. KING OF COMEDY (NAP) was unlucky not to win the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and possibly found an extended 1m2f a shade too far in the Juddmonte International at York last month. He’s a top-class miler who should get back to winning ways here.
