Verdict

NELSON looks the one to beat in the opener. The Frankel colt showed further progress when landing a Group 3 at Leopardstown last time and will be difficult to peg back if allowed to dominate at the head of affairs. Mildenberger came up short in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood before picking-up a Listed race over today’s trip at Salisbury but has plenty to find with the Ballydoye colt on these terms and one of the less exposed types may prove a bigger threat. Herculean is another of Frankel’s offspring and made a winning start at Ascot while Roaring Lion remains unbeaten having defied a penalty to land a novices’ race at Kempton by six lengths.
