Verdict
Juveniles outscore their elders eight - two over the last ten runnings of this race but HIMALYA may be able to narrow the gap. Rum King, Dorback and the well-regarded Pastoral Player may provide the main opposition. Marine Boy was a powerful juvenile but he's struggled to live up to his billing and Himalya is the clear pick of the older generation having stayed on well to finish on the heels of the leaders in a Listed race at the course last time. The extra furlong on offer here should suit and he doesn't have many miles on the clock. Pastoral Player created a buzz when winning on debut but gave trouble at the start ahead of his intended second outing and found little off the bridle at Newbury although his rider did report that he failed to act on the soft ground. Dorback also made a bright start to his career but has disappointed on a couple of occasions now although it may not pay to be too critical of his run at York as he endured a rough race. Rum King hails from a yard with a good record in this race and he left his previous efforts behind to comfortably account for a subsequent winner over course and distance. Haadeeth has plenty to find on the bare form but may progress whilst Chips O'Toole has been running well and they are favoured by the allowances but Himalya may still be able to come out on top.
