Verdict

Signor Verdi is a relatively fresh and unexposed horse for the time of year and is sure to attract support with Richard Hughes in the saddle but he'll have to overcome some relatively gnarled campaigners if he's to follow up his July win at Thirsk. Sand Skier should run another big race and Brick Red may well be worth another chance but the suggestion is CHAPTER AND VERSE. He landed a big prize at his favoured all-weather track, Kempton, on his penultimate start but showed himself capable of picking up a decent pot on grass with a fast-finishing second over course and distance last time with Directorship in third. Emirates Dream is looking to bounce back from a tame run in the Cambridgeshire whilst Wannabe King has been struggling this season but is slipping back down the weights and they have claims along with Vainglory and First Cat.
