Verdict
Hawridge Flyer won this in 2018 and was beaten only a neck by Berrahri on the July course here in August. Both have failed to figure subsequently while Whitehaven faces a much tougher task penalised 6lb after landing a couple of lowly Class 6 contests at Yarmouth albeit by a wide margin. Kaloor finished second of four runners over track and trip and has a shout if handling the ground but SPEED COMPANY (NAP) is versatile as regards the going and having slipped back down the weights, Ian Williams’ charge can go close back in this lower grade after a recent fourth at Goodwood. Cloud Thunder and Sweet Dime have been thereabouts on the all-weather while Duke Of Condicote placed in soft ground at Yarmouth last time.
