        Verdict

        Now that the racing penny seems to have dropped, Dom d'Orgeval might be able to win again, with Kalambari and, possibly, Yourman rated his biggest dangers. The selection caused a surprise when improving radically on previous form to score at this track last time out He has been raised just four pounds for that victory and, in a modest heat overall, can go well again. Formerly clumsy over hurdles, Kalambari is in better form now and came good at Stratford in July. Much as he has been raised ten pounds for that effort, this quirky customer - who has to be delivered as late as possible - should go well, although he has to concede 20 pounds to Dom d'Orgeval. Much as Yourman was well behind Kalambari last time, he might have needed that outing and Tony McCoy has elected to ride him from the two Martin Pipe entries. Titian Flame also has a bit to find with Kalambari on recent form, but Devote, who won from a mark of 98 - now rated 92 - in February 2002, has not really progressed from that victory and Polish Legend, who, it could be argued has place claims, blotted his career record by refusing to race last time. Overall, then, it all points us in the direction of Dom d'Orgeval, who gets our vote in this contest.
