Verdict
The Venetia Williams-trained Kety Star has found one too good in each of his last two starts and has to be respected off the same mark as last time, especially as he is set to go up 3lbs in future weights, but he may have to settle for minor honours again with preference for Salinas who gets the vote ahead of Cheeky Lad. The selection is 2lbs worse in for the half length that separated him and Kety Star at Worcester last month but the eight-year-old should be better suited by today's faster ground and is taken to confirm that form. Sunley Shines looked beaten when falling at Stratford last time and may be best watched now, while Theocritus is hard to recommend on recent form. Silvergino has slipped to a fair mark but is hard to recommend on recent evidence and a bigger threat is likely to come from the more consistent Cheeky Lad. Salinas has done little wrong of late though and he is preferred.
