Verdict
It's difficult to make a strong case for any of them but Greensmith Lane made late headway at Market Rasen last time and that will have done his confidence good and he gets the vote. If running to the form level of an Exeter effort last season, he should be thereabouts. Better Moment has a chance even off top weight. While he has never won a handicap, his Southwell win that equated to a mark of around 90 marks him down as having a leading chance. Turning to the others, Abbey's Girl would have to improve out of all recognition to get competitive. The Alleycat won a seller in April but has been in-and-out since, although his last run would give supporters cause for optimism. Haikal hasn't progressed from a Carlisle win over a year ago. Gotham Abbey ran well two starts ago but then spoiled that impression by being beaten in a seller last time. Dante's Battle is a shadow of his former self, when he displayed form that would make him a leading player here, but he clearly is not as good as he once was. Once again, then, Greensmith Lane might just provide the answer.
