In depth

Verdict

Tuskar Rock is the tentative choice to land a novice hurdle where the quality on display is moderate. Venetia Williams' charge failed to jump with any great fluency at Wetherby on his last outing, where the step up in trip meant hold up tactics needed to be applied and appeared to disinterest him. A reprodution of his Taunton third, which was achieved in another moderate maiden, would see him go close to landing this. Just Shove It, a half brother to Don't Push It is worth monitoring in the market. Mungo Jerry has plenty experience and was the winner of a handicap hurdle three starts back. Former Liam Corcoran in-mate Freddy's Star has failed to trouble the judge on two outings over obstacles but has third in a Chepstow bumper in the form book and with the standard being so poor even that performance twelve months ago makes him deserving of consideration. Tuskar Rock is no world beater but should be capable of landing this.
