Verdict

CHAPOTURGEON made mistakes in the Foxhunter Chase at Cheltenham and, after making a short-lived effort on the final circuit, was pulled up. But he'd beaten a much stronger field than this on his reappearance at Newbury and is likely to short a price here, despite his welter burden. Presentandcorrect may be the danger as he had Regal Rumpus and Himalayan Express behind when scoring at Stratford last month and meets both on much better terms. He won a point-to-point last week and is preferred to last year's winner Louis Pasteur and the generally disappointing How's My Friend. Findlay's Find is preferred to Lady Myfanwy of Myfanwy Miles' two runners but the selection's declaration has left the weights looking decidedly lop-sided.
