Verdict

Kauto The King won this last year and has tumbled down the ratings but he’s been running poorly. Fat Sam is another course winner who is potentially well treated and he is back over fences after two runs over hurdles while Farouk De Cheneau came good at Fontwell in just his fourth run over the larger obstacles. MIDNIGHT JEWEL is 3-6 over fences and rarely runs a bad race. He has gone up 5lb for winning at Bangor but gets on well with 3lb claimer Lilly Pinchin. Stormin Crossgales still has untapped potential so can’t be left out of calculations.
