Verdict

A trappy handicap for the 'getting out stakes', but Rescindo is just preferred to the equally lightly-raced Athenian Law, with Ann's Girl and Dizzy Tart other notable opponents. Martin Pipe and Tony McCoy are likely to come to this race with a number of winners already under their belt, and Rescindo can cap another successful day for the champion trainer and jockey. The four-year-old was a length and a quarter behind Dizzy Tart when they were third and fourth at Wincanton earlier this month, and he has since fared slightly better when a close third at Fontwell last time, so is fancied to reverse the form on a pound better terms. This slight drop in trip and easy track should also be in his favour. Athenian Law is a worthy opponent, and Philip Hobbs' gelding is another with plenty of scope, having run third in a good race at Perth last month in his first start for over a year, and could easily step up on that form. Boater won this race last year and is on a fair mark, but has been badly out of form lately, so a bigger danger could be Ann's Girl, who won a seller at Worcester and was third in a better race there last time.
