In depth

Verdict

Wolverhampton winner Born Ruler was returning from a break when a beaten favourite back there in May and should do better. Damascus Steel appeared to find this trip just on the short side at Pontefract after scoring over an extended 1m3f at Windsor earlier while Western Beat has gained both career victories on the all-weather and was engaged at Redcar yesterday. NIGHT LIFE (NAP) made a bold bid at Pontefract, leading into the straight and staying on when headed. She's dropped to a winnable mark and can take this for Mark Walford.
