Ice Slice turns up here just three days after a decisive all-the-way Brighton success and is clearly in the form of his life. A 6lb penalty in a better race will make life tougher though and STARDRIFTER is taken to have his measure. He may be making his seasonal reappearance but the Fahey gelding scored at this venue last season first time up so is perfectly capable after an absence. He remains on a decent mark and represents a value option. Winterval has to be of interest for Roger Varian as one of two unexposed members of the field whilst Ryan Moore is a rare booking for Mick Channon on Sarmadee, also open to progression after just four career starts and much better last time. Just Be Lucky has place claims.
