Verdict

STYLE AND PANACHE just gets the nod ahead of Takeaway in a tough one to call. Bajan Ballet is the one most likely to be breathing down their necks judging by the evidence available up to press. Another to bear in mind is Galtymore Lad, who is out of a 5f juvenile winner so is bred to be effective at this trip. The last named is a stablemate of Whatsthehurry, who showed promise on debut but will need to improve on that performance today. The son of Proclamation (a high-class miler) is a likely candidate for cutting out the early running but will be suited to a step up in trip before too long. Takeaway - a comfortable winner at Kempton - is sure to be a popular choice and, given Richard Hannon's flying start to the season, a big run us anticipated. However, Style And Panache also displayed stacks of ability when second at Southwell last week and, with the fillies allowance very much in her favour, the daughter of Trans Island has a live chance of getting off the mark today. With a 14% strike-rate from less than 40 rides for the David Evans yard, Jamie Spencer taking over the reigns can also be taken as a positive sign that her connections mean business today.
