    Verdict

Richard Newland's GUGA was not at his best in a Bath handicap on his most recent start last month but dropped into a seller he has an obvious chance of resuming winning ways and win his third race in his last four starts, with the main dangers rated as Marafong and Frank Street. Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding appreciated the drop to this grade last time at Windsor and has solid place claims but is hard to back with confidence against the selection. Reg Hollinshead's Magenta Strait is capable but inconsistent, while Paul Howling's Wigan Lane needs to step up on recent efforts to trouble the judge. Julia Feilden's Marafong takes a big drop in class and has to be respected carrying just 8st 12lb but Guga has an obvious chance back in a seller and looks the one to beat.
