      A winner over this trip at Ripon and Beverley over the summer, CALIFORNIA GEM ran a cracker behind the smart Amichi in a valuable auction race at Newmarket 11 days ago and should take all the beating here if that effort hasn’t taken its toll. Betweenthesticks is having a 15th run of the campaign but looked as good as ever when making all at York last week, though is closely matched with Impeachment on earlier form at Wolverhampton. Love Affairs beat a previous winner at Goodwood with the second going close again at Windsor on Monday but shock Hamilton winner Camila Vargas will need to improve again to figure in this.
