In depth

Verdict

Mr Sandicliffe looks the obvious choice and is difficult to oppose in this maiden with Always Hopeful and Bold Tiger rated as the main dangers. The selection made a pleasing debut before finishing second behind Richard Hannon's colt Hot. That form has since been franked and it will be a surprise if Mr Sandicliffe is not able to break his duck today. Always Hopeful caught the eye on his debut in a competitive Newmarket maiden when a good second behind Classic Encounter. He is sure to come on for the run and he should be the one to capitalise if our selection fails to fire. Bold Tiger showed plenty of speed last time but he gave the impression that he would be suited by an extra furlong and he may be best watched today. Richard Fahey's newcomer Sunset Darling is the other that could have a chance and she is certainly worth noting in the market, but we will stick with Mr Sandicliffe who should take plenty of beating.
