        Verdict

        Escalating has been here twice and won both times. He arrives with a penalty for Sunday's victory over 5f where he stayed on strongly to lead close home. Love Island is a regular winner including at this grade and his narrow victory over Fredericka at Newcastle has been given a boost by the runner-up. GEORGE BOWEN has been competing at a higher level and wasn't beaten far when third at Epsom last time. He hasn't won for some time but now looks on a mark he should be capable of scoring from. Magical Effect has done well since landing a Thirsk maiden last summer and is sure to run his race but Rantan is looking a few pounds high.
