In depth

Verdict

Top weight may not be enough to stop Factual Lad and he gets the nod over Sunshine On Me and Keeper's Lodge in the finale. The last named has hinted at a return to form of late and, as she usually comes good around this time of year, it will be interesting to see if any support arrives for her in the betting ring. The daughter of Grand Lodge is a versatile type and is back on a fair mark at present. Sunshine On Me won well at Lingfield last month and rewarded her supporters with an impressive display. This is a fair bit tougher though and a 9lb higher mark may be her undoing. Therefore, we prefer to go with Factual Lad, who has been holding his own in this sort of company since he returned from his winter break. Rod Millman's horses are running well at present and Factual Lad can give the Devon-based handler some cheer after a series of near misses with his string over the last fortnight.
