In depth
Verdict
CHAMPAGNE MARENGO (NAP) shrugged off a penalty and returned a wide-margin winner over 2m at Ascot last week to land a hat-trick. He scored over today’s shorter trip earlier and Ian Williams’ progressive charge is worth sticking with until beaten. Fantastic Ms Fox beat the selection in a maiden at Redcar in May but hasn’t shown the same improvement subsequently and fell victim to Well Funded in soft ground at Doncaster last month. The latter should go well again but Lincoln Tale would prefer a slower surface and Yellow Label is preferred on today’s ground.
