In depth

Verdict

CONTROL CHIEF's recent second at Lingfield looks the best form on offer in this maiden and Ralph Beckett's son of Medicean can get off the mark today. Crew Cut has failed to reproduce the form of his second at Doncaster in June while Eshoog's Wolverhampton second came in modest company, though she did have some decent form when with Clive Brittain last year. Lady Excellentia has had plenty of chances but Miakora may still have some scope, though hasn't raced since April.
