        Verdict

        Those with experience of the racecourse have shown little so far including Wilfred Owen. The latter can only improve having finished last of eight at Newmarket on his debut but Astrologist finished a lot closer to the winner when beating only one home at the same meeting on his debut. But one of the newcomers may prove good enough in an unappealing maiden with a speculative vote going to Roger Varian’s 100,000gns purchase, IMAGINATIVE, who makes more appeal than Blazing Tunder and Hilborough.
