Verdict

CROWNING STAR had four starts on turf last season but has shown a big improvement this year over longer trips on the Polytrack. He has an 8lb rise to contend with here but, as he ran out a seven length winner at Wolverhampton last week, Gay Kelleway's charge is taken to register his hat-trick. Emman Bee is another recent Polytrack winner with turf form on fast ground while Fibresand scorer Sweetnessandlight could prove suited to today's going on the back of a recent comeback third at Redcar. Mistress Of Rome will relish the soft ground but today's trip is a worry for Ayr's 6f winner though My New Angel can't be ignored off a 5lb higher mark having scored over a mile at Southwell last time.
