          Verdict

          The lightly-raced Balerno is taken by TEAMtalk to land this drab handicap that closes the Nottingham card. Slow to progress, Roger Charlton's charge put up his best performance over course and distance 88 days ago. Following that effort he put in a below par effort at Beverley before being given a break. He is open to improvement and should run well. Bailieborough has been running well all season since changing stables and could be reaching his peak at present. He has shown a liking for soft ground and should put up a good account of himself. The lightly-raced Oopsie Daisy is one to be wary of from a stable boasting a decent record at this track. He has been off for a long while but his canny trainer should have him spot on for his first attempt on a soft surface. Arguably the horse with the best racecourse form is Only Penang but those effort came over two months ago so there obviously have been problems. Iced Diamond has been putting in some pleasing efforts of late and looks on a decent mark at present. If reproducing some of the form he showed earlier in the season he could go well at a decent price.
