In depth

Verdict

The Roger Charlton yard made a slow start to the season but is steadily finding form and have a major chance here with EXTRA ELUSIVE (NAP). The champion jockey has been booked for the Mastercraftsman colt who created a fine impression on debut last October when a convincing winner of a Newbury novice event. That win came on soft ground but his handler presumably has no concerns about using quicker ground for this seasonal reappearance. From a form perspective, opposition looks thin on the ground but Drap D'Or looks the sort to progress with time, presumably when sent handicapping, and Jathi is also a possible improver. Helioblu Bareliere, the sole older horse on show, has place claims but needs to improve to trouble the selection.
