Verdict
Cashbar gets the call here ahead of Play Bouzouki, Oh Golly Gosh and Marsh Orchid. Seemingly the stronger of the two James Fanshawe runners, the selection was narrowly denied on his racecourse debut at Lingfield on the Polytrack, with Port Sodrick over nine lengths away in sixth following a slow start. That rates as just about the best form on offer and he should go well. Marsh Orchid was fifth at Newmarket on his racing debut and, even though the form of that race has not exactly been franked, should hold a chance in this run-of-the-mill contest. James Fanshawe runs Fifth Column, who has yet to show much on the track but Oh Golly Gosh has at least displayed some ability and a first-time visor might reveal more. With My Michelle struggling to recapture her two-year-old promise, it might be left to the Luca Cumani newcomer, Play Bouzouki, a Halling half-sister to Alkaadem, to give the selection his sternest test. Overall, though, we will side with Cashbar.
