In depth

Verdict

An intriguing renewal, not least to discover if the remarkable Cirrus Des Aigles can hold his Group 1 winning form at the age of nine. He has won two of the last three renewals and is expected to reverse October's form at Ascot with Al Kazeem on this faster surface. The latter's recent Group 2 win here looked a bit suspect with a couple of fancied horses floundering in the heavy going including FRACTIONAL. But Andre Fabre has no hesitation about taking Al Kazeem on again and his charge is closely matched with Cirrus Des Aigles on last year's Prix Dollar form. Other interesting contenders making their comebacks are last year's Arc seventh Prince Gibraltar and the Prix de L'Opera winner We Are.
