Verdict

Shankill Castle sets the standard after scoring a surprise success at Ayr last month. He's since undergone wind surgery and now steps up to 2m4f in his attempt to defy a penalty. Cuddles Mcgraw is taking time to get the hang of things but there were shoots of promise last time at Towcester and is going the right way so is respected in a modest contest. Lady Samback finished well behind Shankill Castle at Ayr and the Russell pair must improve considerably to figure. In contrast, ROO ROO displayed notable promise when a staying-on fourth in a Kelso bumper. He will appreciate the step up in trip and receives a healthy 10lb from the top weight, plus the 3lb allowance of Ross Chapman.
