In depth

Verdict

A market move for Tony Martin's La Carihuela would undoubtedly be of interest in this handicap hurdle but she has yet to even be placed in 13 starts so looks best watched and preference is for Lady Roania, who gets the vote ahead of Little Bit of Hush. The last mentioned made a winning start to his career when landing a Haydock bumper in April 2006 but has failed to progress from that in just four starts since then. However, Noel Chance's gelding ran better last time and has to be respected. Le Forezien has more to do than when landing a selling hurdle at Hereford last month, while Seven Is Lucky looks to be going the right way after an improved effort at Hexham last time but needs to improve again. Flying Doctor has run consistently well in his last two starts and should again be thereabouts but a better bet looks to be Lady Roania, who has no problems with trip or ground and is on a fair enough mark in this company.
