In depth
Verdict
We will side with Clear Dawn in this stamina test, with others considered being Ladies From Leeds, Lion Guest, Pike Staff, Olympic Storm and Ben Britten. There are no trip or going concerns for the selection who, having proven that he can knock at the door from his current hurdling rating, might see it open today. The lightly-raced Ben Britten showed he could handle this trip last time and, with scope for improvement, gets a positive mention, but Knockdoo might prefer a bit more juice in the ground, while Northern Echo hasn't built on his improved Sedgefield run, although the longer trip might help today. Ladies From Leeds also improved last time, when fitted with blinkers, and, if they work again, might go well and Scamp seemed to appreciate the longer trip last time, although he has already been beaten in a seller. Lion Guest is reasonably treated on his win here last year, but his latest effort was inconclusive regarding today's trip. Bits of form give No Sam No and End Of An Error a chance, while Cheery Martyr was another that improved for a step up in trip last time and has to be considered on that basis. Pikestaff at least knows how to win and he stays also, while Olympic Storm was a fair second here last time and is another that could conceivably improve for today's step up in trip. Finally, Cool Dante is on a winning chase mark but, for the selection, we return to Clear Dawn.
